In 1992, Philip Williams decided to sell his
locally grown produce on the corner of Kenney Drive and Nanticoke Road. Opening
for just a few short summer months, he had two bins for produce selling mostly
cantaloupes and watermelons.
In 1994, he started dating Denise whom he'd
eventually marry in 1995. She had been in the flower industry all her life and
introduced this concept to Williams Market.
From this point on the business has steadily
grown not only in the produce department but also with a huge selection of
flowers and plants. This growth has caused the business to remain open from
Easter to Christmas, touching every season from tulips to pumpkins to Christmas
trees.
Carrying on the tradition of the family owned
business are Denise's three daughters Erica, Danielle, and Andrea. Erica worked
the market through college and is now a nurse at the local hospital, but still
helps out on busy holidays. Danielle worked through high school and college.
After college, she decided to stay and help run the family business. And for those of
you who have shopped here since we have
opened you would remember the youngest Andrea. Barely reaching the counter at
age five to help ring up sales with her mother and sisters, she is now 17 and
finishing high school. We hope she will continue to work with the family
business as well.
Two a dditional family members are Tucker and
Buttons, the family dogs, who come to
work almost every day!
The entire family hopes that your every
experience with William's Market is a pleasurable one. We pride ourselves on our
quality products, friendly service, and knowledgeable staff. Thank you for your
continued support.
